FCR 14: The Wolf Packs Baysangur Makaev to face Pawel Szumlas in exciting scrap

One thing Fight Club Rush is known for is exciting finishes, and now two prospects who have never gone the distance as pros are the latest pairing booked for FCR 14.

Lightweights Pawel Szumlas (1-2) and Baysangur Makaev (0-1) are now scheduled for a lightweight bout at FCR 14 on November 26th.

Polands Szumlas is a former opponent turned training partner to Eryk Walecki - who will return to FCR 14 for his second bout with the promotion. After finding success as an amateur, including a couple of first round finishes, Szumlas made the move to pro in June of 2019.

Szumlas couldn't have gotten a better start to his pro career as he finished Daniel Roibu via vicious first round knockout on home soil. Since then, however, he has fallen short, losing back-to-back bouts via stoppage.

Makaev is a training partner and close friend to UFC superstar Khamzat Chimaev and a member of the famed Wolf Pack group at Allstars Training Center - which includes the likes of Guram Kutateladze and Bilal Tipsaev.

While lacking some of the MMA experience that others in The Wolf Pack do, Makaev more than makes up for it with his heart. He threw himself into the fire early, taking on Örebro Fight Gyms Jakob Valegren in an amateur contest at Brave CF 37 in the summer of 2020. Makaev excelled, outpointing, out-wrestling and overpowering his opponent en route to a clear-cut unanimous decision victory.

Makaev made his pro debut in October of last year against Samuel Bark - a multiple time Muay Thai champion with an excess of 70 bouts in that discipline. Makaev got off to a good start, pushing the pace and scoring a takedown. However Makaev then succumbed to a brutal flying knee, losing his debut via knockout.

Both these lightweights are coming off of losses, eager to return to the win column and ready to put on a show in Västerås.
