Hecher Sosa to be stripped of FCR bantamweight title: "Stands vacant"

The Fight Club Rush bantamweight title is now vacant as former title holder Hecher Sosa has been stripped of the title due to turning down multiple opportunities to defend his title.

FCR promotor Zlatko Ostrogonac has issued the following statement:

"Hecher Sosa has been offered to defend his belt on several occasions since he became champion at FCR 19. Since then we have tried to book him on several occasions to defend his belt. For some reason neither Hecher Sosa his team or his management have wanted to be cooperative or find a solution when the offers comes, they have chosen to go their own way and not follow the agreement as agreed."

"We would like to thank Hecher Sosa for the time he has been in FCR but champions who do not take responsibility and show loyalty to the organization have no place with us, therefore Hecher Sosa is immediately stripped of the bantamweight title and it stands vacant as of today."

Sosa debuted in FCR in November of 2021 at FCR 10, knocking out Jonny Touma in emphatic fashion and immediately making a huge splash in the promotion. That led to a contract with FCR and though Sosa would lose his following bout, he returned to the win column with a strong showing against Bilal Tipsaev.

After lining up a three fight winning streak in FCR Sosa was offered a shot at the vacant title against Finnish veteran Tuomas Grönvall at FCR 19 in February of last year. Sosa put on one of his most impressive performances so far, winning a clear-cut unanimous decision.

Unfortunately that was the last time Sosa would compete in FCR. He was given the freedom to compete back in his home nation of Spain but was expected to defend his title in FCR as well. While Sosa has stayed active, competing four times since February 2024, yet he has declined every single offer to defend his FCR title.
