The young talents of today will become the stars of tomorrow, that much is certain. That the hottest prospects of Scandinavia and beyond will show their potential at Fight Club Rush is pretty much guaranteed at this point as well.
FCR 16 will see Baysangur Makaev (1-1) and Theo Alvaro Bashford (2-0) meet in an exciting lightweight contest, June third, at Västerås Arena.
Makaev has previously stuck out as a part of the famed Wolf Pack but is now forging his own path. He holds an amateur win over former FCR fighter Jakob Valegren but was faced with grave adversity in his pro debut, getting knocked out by rising star Samuel Bark.
While that loss has aged very well on account of Barks success Makaev returned at FCR 14 last year and firmly put that loss behind him as he bulldozed Polish striker Pawel Szumlas en route to an emphatic first round TKO win.
Bashford is a training partner of FCR star and bantamweight contender Enrique Hecher Sosa. He's an experienced striker who has competed and won in Road to ONE Championship. He was also a finalist in the 2019 Spanish Amateur MMA championships, has a BJJ purple belt and has won medals in several grappling competitions.
Since going pro in 2021 Bashford has lined up two straight wins via finish; one submission and one TKO.
Compared to other FCR divisions lightweight is somewhat open and ready for the taking, either one of these top prospects could take the step from prospect to contender with an impressive win.
