All aspects of MMA are equally important, but sometimes a duell between strikers is just what the fans want. Fight Club Rush can now announce an exciting bout between seasoned strikers Kevin Mickelsson (0-1) and Houssein Khodr (0-0) slated for FCR 22 in Västerås on November 30th.
Mickelsson is tightly linked to Swedish football club Djurgårdens IF and has a long history of excelling at Muay Thai. In 2020 he debuted in amateur MMA, defeating Oktay Aliyev via submission.
After much anticipation Mickelsson finally made his pro debut in February of this year, taking on under-the-radar prospect Fredrik Ljunglund. Mickelsson started the fight off with a bang, dropping his opponent with a vicious overhand shot. Ljunglund did manage to recover, however, eventually securing a reversal and subsequent TKO win.
Mickelsson was scheduled to face Herolind Xhafolli at FCR 21 but was forced out due to illness.
Khodr also has a long history of striking proficiency having competed in Allstyle and Wushu amongst other disciplines.
Khodr made his MMA debut as an amateur at FCR 18 last november, facing Abdulrahman Amaev in a fan-friendly bout that was filled to the brim with exotic techniques. Khodr would eventually go on to secure a late TKO win.
Now Khodr is ready to step into the pro leagues but Mickelsson is about as tough of a test as one could as for.
