The injury bug has struck Fight Club Rush 14, affecting two main card bouts. Alexander Lööf has been injured, forcing him out of his planned FCR 14 co-main event with grizzled veteran Fernando Flores.
However, there are plans to reschedule the much-anticipated featherweight fight to spring 2023. As one of the most experienced active fighters in Sweden, Flores is an excellent test for the undefeated prospect that is Lööf.
Flores has defeated the likes of Simon Sköld, Pietro Menga and Michel Diega-Scheck, among others. Meanwhile Lööf is coming off of the biggest win of his career, a decision victory over previously undefeated Samuel Bark in the main event of FCR 11.
Alas, returning, top-tier flyweight Renato Vidovic has injured his knee, putting his planned bout with Zoran Milic on ice. While nothing is yet official, there are plans to re-book the bout, most likely for FCR 15 in the spring.
Milic will remain on the card, though, instead taking on returning FCR fighter Rohulla Yousofi. Though Yousofi got a tough start to his pro career, losing to Fadi Asfar at FCR 7 and then to Vidovic. However the two-time Afghan boxing champion scored his first pro win as recently as this weekend, via a first round TKO in an away bout in Finland.
Milic, on the other hand, is coming off of two straight wins, most recently a decision victory over Irelands Gerard Burns in a three round thriller.
Injuries affect almost all MMA events, however luckily FCR always has contingency plans in place.
