Every superstar got their start somewhere, and two amateur fighters with heaps of potential are now set to duke it out at Fight Club Rush 14 on November 26th. Highly-touted Malmö prospect Ali "The Alligator" Al-Jasim will make his return against the well rounded, low-key talent Gustav Holmqvist.
Over the past few years Redline Training Centers Al-Jasim has built up a reputation for flashy kicks, impressive finishes, and style that shines like a rising sun. With finishes over the likes of Nicholai Von Benzon Hollesen and Sebastian Vocanac, among others, "The Alligator" was booked to face Abbe Hussein at FCR 11. Al-Jasim took an early lead and seemed to be close to victory, but remained in a striking exchange for too long and was knocked out.
Since then Al-Jasim has gone on to say that he learned more from that loss than all of his wins combined, and vows to give the fans a show on November 26th.
Whatever Holmqvist lacks in terms of swag and style points he makes up for with disciplined grit, determination and enough pressure to create diamonds. With noteworthy finishes over former FCR fighter Bilal Kerchiev and Sahebdad Kalemi he began stepping into the spotlight.
Following those wins Holmqvist went three rounds with former FCR fighter Noah Hedenberg, winning a clear-cut decision.
Expectations are high, but whoever wins this amateur showdown at FCR 14 is sure to exceed most projections going forward.
