On June third Fight Club Rush returns to the home base in Västerås, Sweden with a card that could the best that the promotion has ever put together. The first fight is now official as TV star and red-hot MMA prospect Liam Pitts will face Gothenburgs Enes Ahmemulic in an amateur bantamweight contest.
Pitts was scheduled to face David Hedlund at FCR 15, though his opponent dropped out during fight week due to personal reasons. Hedlund was replaced by Ahmemulic, who took the fight on short notice, however Pitts began falling ill and was hospitalised the day before the event due to a stomach infection.
Now the two are re-booked and ready to throw down at Västerås Arena.
Pitts is no stranger to the spotlight as both his parents are well-known in the Entertainment industry. However he forged his own path, winning the Swedish Junior Nationals in wrestling.
Since starting with MMA Pitts began training at the world famous Allstars Training Center in Stockholm and quickly grew close with Khamzat Chimaev and Bilal Tipsaev.
Pitts made his amateur MMA debut against Noah Persson at FCR 11, winning the fight via a clear-cut unanimous decision, gaining the respect of his peers.
Ahmemulic has scored many nice victories in B-class amateur MMA and has been trying to make his A-class debut but has had an issue finding opponents. He is one of the instructors at Fighter Centre in Gothenburg and is an all-round, talented fighter.
While both Pitts and Ahmemulic have bright futures ahead of them only one can emerge victorious at FCR 16.
