Nabbe Malki injured, Zelim Zubairaev steps in on short notice to face Mika Kallio in Nordic clash



Injuries are a part of the MMA game and unfortunately Nabbe Malki has been forced out of his planned bout with Mika Kallio (2-0) due to an injury. Norway's Zelim Zubairaev (2-0) has now stepped up to face Kallio at Fight Club Rush 19, which takes place at Quality Hotel Friends in Solna, Stockholm on February 24th.


Finland's Kallio is a rising prospect who has represented the Finnish National Team in amateur MMA. He capped off his amateur career with a big knockout win över current light heavyweight prospect Romeo Thanveera in Finland's premiere MMA promotion.


Kallio made his pro debut last spring, winning a split decision over experienced and hardened Norwegian Quinten DeVreught. Kallio was then forced out of a planned fight with Malki at FCR 17 in September last year.


In his most recent outing Kallio knocked out Marcos Jose de Souza in the second round.


Zubairaev fights out of Frontline Academy in Olso, Norway but also spends much time at Allstars Training Center in Stockholm. He made his pro debut in september 2019, defeating Andrea Marrazzo via second round TKO.


Following that Zubairaev was set to fight Alejandro Tourparfait at FCR 8, but the bout was scrapped due to injury.


Zubairaev was most recently active in September lat year, submitting Henrik Lie in the first round.
