Another new market will be explored as Fight Club Rush debuts in Uppsala, Sweden on September ninth with the promotions 17th event. The first hometown fighter has now been announced as Shoeb Karar Akrami (2-1) returns to FCR to welcome southern sensation Ali Yazbeck (2-0) to Uppsala!
Akrami holds solid amateur wins that have aged very well over the likes of David Hedlund, Jakob Valegren and Jonny Touma – who headlines FCR 17. In a bout that proved his fighting spirit, Akrami made his pro debut against still undefeated top prospect Ali Taleb at FCR 5 in August of 2019. Showing the heart of a lion, Akrami fought tooth and nail, eventually succumbing to a third round TKO loss.
Since then Akrami has remained perfect with a first round knockout over Fadi Asfar, and most recently an emphatic decision win over Eli Elias.
Malmös Yazbeck was one of the best kept secrets that Redline Training Center had. A 2016 European Shooto Champion, Yazbeck avenged his team mate Ali Al-Jasim in his pro debut at FCR 14, defeating Abbe Hussein via second round submission in a sensational performance that announced the Southern Swedes presence in the featherweight pro leagues.
Yazbeck extended his win streak in May of this year, submitting Finnish striker Hama Dara in the very first round.
While there are many high-profile bouts announced and scheduled for FCR 17, Akrami vs Yazbeck may very well be the sleeper fight that steals the show.
