FCR 15 is shaping up to be the biggest event in the promotions history and the latest announcement only strengthens that sentiment. Swedish reality TV star and MMA prospect Liam Pitts is now set for his second amateur MMA bout!
Pitts will compete in his home town of Stockholm on the FCR 15 preliminary card. The event goes down at Strawberry Fields by Quality Hotell Solna on February 25th. Tickets are currently already on sale. His bout is set to take place in the star studded bantamweight division, the opponent has not yet been finalised, however.
This is not the only high-profile personality to compete in FCR. Influencer and current Karate Combat star Samuel Ericsson competed at FCR 3 in 2018, defeating Ruben Sibma via decision.
While Pitts initial following and fame may be due to being the son of song writer Mason Pitts and singer/manager/celebrity Laila Bagge, he has forged his own path in combat sports, independent of anyone else.
At a young age Pitts won the Junior Swedish nationals in wrestling and he has trained at the world famous Allstars Training Center in Stockholm for years. He frequently trains with the likes of FCR star Bilal Tipsaev and UFC superstar Khamzat Chimaev - who had his first MMA fight in FCR.
After much anticipation Pitts made his amateur MMA debut at FCR 11 in February of last year. Pitts faced Halmstad Kampsports Noah Persson - who trains with the likes of FCR stand outs David Jacobsson and veteran Robert Nyström.
While Persson was the more experienced out of the two in terms of MMA, Pitts took the fight to his opponent and put the pressure on early. Pitts' striking looked sharp, he returned to his feet shortly after being taken down and finished the fight on top, landing ground and pound.
The judges awarded Pitts all three rounds, securing a crystal clear unanimous decision victory for the the young star.
