Balkan grappling phenom Ognjen Babic to face Michaël Kouame in stylistic clash

In a match up hearkening back to earlier days of MMA, Fight Club Rush 15 will se a classic meeting between grappler and striker as Ognjen Babić (2-0) is set to take on Michaël Kouame (0-1).

FCR 15 goes down on February 25th at Strawberry Fields in Stockholm, the promotions second outing to the Swedish Capital.

Babić is one of the most hyped prospects to come out of the Balkans in years. He earned a reputation as a swift finisher on the ground with several amateur submission wins, setting the stage for fantastic feats as a pro.

Since entering the pro leagues in 2022 Babić has lined up two straight submission wins - both wins secured in the first round. Babić, a BJJ brown belt, most recently finished Luka Vargovic via kimura before the second round.

Kouamé has blossomed into a well rounded fighter but is a striker at heart. He fought rising FCR star Nabbe Malki for an amateur title in November of 2019. It was a closely contested battle that went the distance. In the end Malki emerged victorious by way of a split decision that was discussed by many thereafter.

Kouamé made his pro denbut against Norwegian prospect Mohamed Zarey in the summer of 2022, losing via first round submission.

Lately Kouamé has been spending time at the UFC Performance Institute and training in Las Vegas with the likes of top-ranked UFC contender Marvin Vettori. Kouamé also trains regularly at Allstars Training Center with many of the best in Scandinavia.

The welterweight division in FCR will certainly get an exciting boost as these two finishers collide.
